Victoria and the surrounding areas are full of beautiful natural backdrops—whether you dream of beachside cuddles, golden field playtime, or forest adventures, there’s a location that fits your family’s vibe.
Beacon Hill Park (Victoria)
This iconic park in the heart of the city offers lush gardens, open fields, large willow trees, and winding paths.
It's great for families with young kids thanks to its stroller-friendly layout and fun features like bridges and
even a nearby petting zoo. Beautiful in every season, especially spring and early summer when the flowers
are in bloom.
Dallas Road Waterfront (Victoria)
Stretching along the southern coastline, this area offers windswept grasses, rugged coastline, driftwood, and
wide-open skies. It's ideal for families who love a natural, slightly wild West Coast vibe. Best at golden hour
when the light is soft and glowy. Minimal walking required and easy street parking nearby.
Mount Douglas Park (Pkols) (Saanich)
This forested location offers tall trees, dappled sunlight, and peaceful trails. There are also stunning ocean
views from the summit, if you're up for a hike. Ideal for adventurous families who love a nature walk vibe.
Best in spring, fall, or overcast days for rich color and soft light.
Cattle Point / Uplands Park (Oak Bay)
With its mix of golden grasslands, arbutus trees, and rocky shoreline, this spot offers tons of variety within a
short walk. It's an ideal sunset location with warm, glowy light and natural textures. Perfect for barefoot
toddlers or cozy blanket moments on the rocks.
Willows Beach (Oak Bay)
Family Photography Location Guide

A classic family-friendly beach with soft sand, gentle waves, and open sky. Great for relaxed, playful
sessions-think splashing, digging, and barefoot snuggles. Easily accessible with parking, bathrooms, and
room to roam. Gorgeous at sunset or early morning.
Island View Beach (Central Saanich)
Expansive and quiet, this beach offers driftwood, tall grasses, and sweeping views of the Gulf Islands and Mt.
Baker. A beautiful place to let the kids run free while capturing candid, joy-filled moments. Best at golden
hour or overcast days for soft, even light.
Goldstream Provincial Park (Langford)
Lush and green year-round, this location features moss-covered trees, wooden bridges, and a rushing river.
It's a Pacific Northwest dream, especially in the fall when the leaves turn vibrant yellow and orange. Ideal for
families who want a cozy, forested feel.
Tower Point (Metchosin)
Part of Witty's Lagoon Regional Park, Tower Point offers a unique blend of rocky coastal cliffs, open grassy
fields, and panoramic ocean views. It's quiet, peaceful, and perfect for nature-loving families. In spring,
wildflowers bloom across the meadow. Accessible and dog-friendly (on-leash during summer). Stunning light
in the evening.
Sea Bluff Farm Area (Metchosin)
This rural area has soft rolling fields, quiet country roads, and big sky views. It's one of my favorite golden
hour spots for its peaceful, open feel and long light. Great for a dreamy, minimal aesthetic with lots of space
Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park (Saanich)
Offering lakeside views, forest trails, and open meadows, this park is versatile and easygoing. It's a great
all-ages location, especially for families with pets or kids who love to explore. We can walk to a few different
backdrops for variety in your gallery.
East Sooke Park - Aylard Farm (East Sooke)
For the adventurous family, this location has it all: open fields, craggy cliffs, arbutus trees, and ocean views.
There's space to roam and play while surrounded by untamed natural beauty. It's about a 45-minute drive
from Victoria but worth every minute for the breathtaking backdrops.
